A Place for Science

Truly a remarkable milestone in the life of the University of Redlands, the campus' new Stauffer Center for Sciences and Mathematics will house all of the university's outstanding teaching and research programs in the sciences. The first two buildings of the center opened in fall 2000, the result of a $18.5 million fund-raising campaign with 550 donors. Hedco Hall for Biology and Chemistry houses 43,300 square feet of laboratories and offices for those departments. The 13,500-square-foot Gregory Hall houses science classrooms and the 76-seat Robert E. Evans Auditorium. The center has been designed to reflect the interdisciplinary, collaborative mode of teaching at a liberal arts and sciences university.

Phase 2
Fund raising for phase 2 of the project now is under way. The second phase will include facilities for mathematics, computer science, physics and environmental studies and a larger auditorium with state-of-the-art media capabilities.

For more information on donor opportunities, please contact Adrienne Jarrett, Associate Director for Development.
