Tickets for the Men’s basketball opener against Villanueva will be available starting at 8 a.m. at the Campus Events window. Cost is $10.00 per ticket with a maximum of 2 tickets per person while supplies last. There are 200 tickets available.

Sexual Violence Awareness Week. The Clothesline Project in remembrance of the victims of sexual assault. 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Hunsaker Plaza.

Convocation Series. Heads vs. Feds: A Marijuana Legalization Debate. Bob Stutman is a 25 year veteran of the D.E.A. rising through the ranks and retiring as head of their N.Y. Office. He has been called “the most famous NARC in America” by the N.Y. Times, and a “true American hero” by Dan Rather. Steve Hager was hired by High Times Magazine over 12 years ago, and became the editor-in-chief shortly thereafter. He created the Freedom Fighters, a national marijuana legalization group and The Cannabis Cup, the “academy awards” of marijuana. 9 p.m., Orton Center.

22 Saturday

The University of Redlands men’s basketball team will kick off its 2003-04 campaign in historic fashion when it hosts Villanova University. This will be the first time the Division III Bulldogs have faced a Division I opponent since 1980 and the first time that Currier Gymnasium will play host to a Division I school. 10 a.m. Currier Gymnasium. Tickets go on sale November 5th. For information regarding tickets contact campus events.

A Fond Farewell

A farewell reception was held for David Coons, director of corporate and foundation relations, on Oct. 15 at Alumni House. Friends and colleagues gathered and presented him with well-wishes, accolades and a chair with a plaque engraved with his name and his length of service to the university. Coons joined the university in 1996.

Redlands Fund Director Jo Greenslet was married to Gary Jones on Oct. 3 in San Diego.
