Leslie Brody, assistant professor of English, and her husband, Gary Amdahl, are co-authors of "A Motel of the Mind," a collection of essays published by Philos Press.

Assistant Professor of Art Valerie Gilman, a visual artist, was awarded a residency at the Ragdale Foundation for the summer/fall session. Ragdale is a nonprofit, internationally acclaimed artists' community located 30 miles north of Chicago in Lake Forest, Ill.

Dan Goldstein, an adjunct faculty member in the San Diego Regional Center, is the prosecutor in a high-profile homicide case where a wife is accused of murdering her husband. Goldstein is assistant deputy district attorney in San Diego.

Kathie Jenni, professor of philosophy, published "The Moral Responsibilities of Intellectuals" in the July issue of Social Theory and Practice, an interdisciplinary journal of social philosophy. She is spending her 2001-02 sabbatical leave in central Montana, reading and writing in moral psychology and ethics.

Denise LaFourcade was appointed assistant dean of Student Life. She will assume responsibilities for housing operations along with Associate Dean Valerie Sponheim. LaFourcade was previously director of residence life.

Library Director Klaus Musmann will consult with the College of Notre Dame in Belmont as its acting library director during the fall semester, helping that institution with its strategic planning. Associate Librarian Bill Kennedy will serve as acting director here during August, and Librarian Jean Swanson will serve as acting director through the fall.

If you see Kathie Rawding, associate dean, or Margie Arnett, enrollment counselor, from the Orange County Regional Center, don't bother to ask. Yes, their hair is getting long. Both are participating in the Locks of Love program, which provides wigs for children with cancer. They'll wait until they have at least a spare foot of hair before getting their next cut.

Psychology Professor Cheryl Rickabaugh co-facilitated a teaching workshop called "Teaching the Psychology of Women and Gender" at the Midwest Psychological Association last month. She is also the second author on an introduction text for McGraw-Hill.
